RESEARCH

The Vienna BioCenter hosts almost 2,270 scientists. The heavy-weight research at the Vienna BioCenter is carried out by the five academic research institutions (GMI, IMBA, IMP, Max Perutz Labs, CeMESS and Faculty of Life Sciences), supported by state-of-the-art research facilities.

EDUCATION

Almost 5,400 students pursue their Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees at the Vienna BioCenter from one of the three Universities represented on campus. Also, a non-profit scientific organization based on campus promotes and explains science to the general public, including a hands-on laboratory.

COMPANIES

The Vienna BioCenter has a rapidly-growing biotech scene with 39 biotech companies currently situated on campus. Several other companies on campus offer a variety of services accommodating scientific needs. There is also a business incubator for start-ups.
